When I woke up yesterday morning and went in to get Paige, Payton had already been hard at work. The top 2 shelves of a bookcase in Paige’s room is full of Parker’s things. Payton had cleared off one shelf…I asked what she was doing and she said she was helping me clean and making room for Paige’s shoes. I told her that Paige’s shoes are fine in her closet and that we should leave the things on the shelf. She insisted that she was helping me and we could unpack it when we move.
When I went to put Paige down for her afternoon nap I saw that one of Parker’s blankies (the kind that has a bear head) was in Paige’s crib. I took it out – much to Payton’s dismay. She told me that she heard Parker say give the blankie to Paige. I said “you heard him”. Yes she replied. I asked her to tell me exactly how the conversation went. Well, she said “Parker, can I give your blankie to Paige?” She heard him, in her heart, say yes. Wow! So of course Paige can have it.
When I put Paige to bed that evening she sat up and grabbed the blankie (she normal will just lay there and not hold anything unless I put it in her arms).
A birthday card came for Parker from Boz yesterday. It was very hard to see – but at least now I’m preparing myself for the other bday club stuff he’s signed up for that will be coming I’m sure. How do you call and cancel that…well, I know how…but I just don’t want to!
Paige says “pawr” when sees our family pic w/parker in it…very cute! I asked Paige if she was ready for her nap…ready to get night-night…she immediately started climbing to (and up) the stairs. In our old house – Parker did this everyday for nap time! Thanks to Lisa for reminding me of how Parker used to say ‘roni & cheese’…she brought it up because her daughter is now saying it…I didn’t remember that with Parker until she said it…I love the memories!!
